ABOUT US

Our History

With God Cerebral Palsy Ghana was established in July, 2016 by Mrs. Ellen Affam-Dadzie who is also a mother of a child with cerebral palsy in Teshie – Demo (Accra). In the past years traditional beliefs and practices was strictly against children who were born with all kinds of disability especially cerebral palsy and was tagged with names such as “Nsuo Ba” (river child), “Bosom Ba” (child of the gods) and some of the children are killed. Due to the expensive nature of the condition, it also makes the parent lose jobs and lifesaving. Mrs. Affam-Dadzie established the With God Cerebral Palsy Ghana as a result of this devastating condition.

Mrs.  Affam-Dadzie mobilized her fellow mothers of children with cerebral palsy to advocate for the equal rights. She then started looking for support from outside which yielded a positive result someway, somehow. The center began with four (4) individuals with cerebral palsy namely, Nana Ama (her daughter), James, Fame and Nana Yaw. She realized the need to appoint other active mothers to support the leadership of the organization. Mrs. Affam-Dadzie added five (5) strong mothers to back her carry on the project. Since 2016, the organization runs both day care and leave- in services for free in which the children have access to regular physiotherapy and other related services.
